Institucionalización y profesionalización de las prácticas teatrales vocacionales: el Seminario Dramático del Instituto Nacional de Estudios de Teatro (1947-1955)

Abstract

In the mid-1930s in Argentina, a state interventionism in cultural matters began to take shape, which intensified significantly during the following governments. The National Commission for Culture set up in 1933 is proof of this. It was a state agency dedicated to art and culture through the promotion and creation of artistic entities, which continued during the first Peronism, becoming part of its cultural policies. This article focuses on the study of the Dramatic Seminar conducted by Juan Oscar Ponferrada, a member of the CNC, as an artistic educational training aimed at training artists from vocational theatre during the period 1947-1955.
